I'm heading out to get advent gifts today. I usually mix it up with tiny candies, little toys, and coins. I made this advent calendar last year for both boys. I love it, because each day they get to untie a little sack to see what "the elves" left them. For more ideas on what to put in your advent calendar check out these great recommendations from Oh Happy Day!

Doing the Numbers
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... in my house.
Last weekend we went to Sonoma and cut down a tree on top of Moon Mountain, did a little wine tasting at Imagery and lunched just off the square at Hopmonk Tavern. I recommend all three. To me, it is quite simply, the most wonderful time of the year. Yeah I'm that girl.
I have a stack of projects I'm working on right now. First off the Advent Calendar. I found one at Terrain that I really loved, but at $68 (and needing two) I decided to DIY and make them a little more subtle. Using mill cloth sacks, striped baker's twine and a number stamp set from Paper Source. I stamped the sacks (put a piece of paper inside to prevent the ink from bleeding), and stuffed them with small toys and candy. I told the kids that elves came today while we were out and left little presents to open each day in December. Yippee!
